FURY, SUPERVISOR Telephone: Middleton 833-5887 JAMES J. CLARK. ASSESSOR
April 3, 1989
County of Dane
Zoning Department
210 Monona Avenue
City-County Building
Madison, WI 53709
SUBJECT: APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - GOVERNMENTAL USE IN A-1
DISTRICT
Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Town of Middleton is active in attempting to relocate its Town Hall/Garage
and central park from its current location at 7722 Mineral Point Road to another
location in the Township. The Town Board has selected a site which it feels
will fulfill current and future needs of the Town. This site consists of
approximately 31 acres located in the southwest quadrant of the intersection
formed by West Old Sauk Road and Pioneer Road and is represented as Parcels A
and B on the attached map (Attachment #1) and as described by the legal
descriptions for each parcel , also shown on the map. It is our understanding
that the zoning for the subject parcels is A-1 and that "governmental use" is a
Conditional Use in the A-1 classification.
• The Town of Middleton is making application for a Conditional Use Permit for
governmental use of the above described property. At this time, we are
seeking governmental use on the entire 31+ acres subject to determination of
the exact location of the municipal buildings. We envision the 31+ acres
will consist of approximately 6 acres dedicated to municipal use with the
remaining 25 acres being used for a central town park.
Our signed application is attached along with a check in the amount of $65.00
which we understand to be the required filing fee since the Town does not yet
own the property. Please note that the Town has made an offer to purchase
the property subject to obtaining this Conditional Use Permit.
• The intended government uses are the following:
is Town Hall and associated parking facilities
is Town Garage to house municipal vehicles
is Provisions will be made to house the Dane County Sheriff's precinct
currently located in the town
• It is expected that some development of the property would begin during the
fall of 1989 and would continue on a schedule consistent with our efforts to
