(—ija,e,/- rc; Aztte_p___ <br /> OBJECTIVES OF XYLAN, INC. <br /> Today my goals for Xylan, Inc. are exactly the same as the ones I had in 1980 <br /> when my dream was formed. The dream has only reinforced with time and <br /> experience. I recite them again in order of importance: <br /> 1. To allow agriculture to participate in the reutilization of the U.S. economy <br /> through fiber production and utilization. <br /> 2. To produce new products that make America a healthier place to eat and live. <br /> 3. To prove that through Biotechnology and Organic Chemistry that we can <br /> accomplish objectives 1 and 2. <br /> 4. To promote products made from agriculture abundance that can replace <br /> products made from imported raw materials. <br /> 5. To show urban people that there are methods available to convert products <br /> now going to land fills into usable animal feed or building materials. <br /> 6. To always put human health and the environment ahead of short term profits. <br /> 7. To allow humans to express and demomstrate their best talents without re- <br /> striction and never limit anyones quest for monetary gain. <br /> 8. To motivate everyone to do their best and to surround myself with people <br /> smarter than myself and evaluate their ideas, develop a consenses of <br /> opinion, and then reach final decisions based on simple logic even if it <br /> does not please everyone. <br /> 9. I believe the tree that grew from a seed I planted now has many branches <br /> and will grow new ones in the future. <br /> 10. I now believe it is time to start to harvest the first fruits of that tree. <br /> It will be a mighty oak tree and live on to reach its real potential only <br /> long after I leave this earth.
