y ;
ill
TECHNICA
RESEARCH SERVICES
•
May 2, 1989
Mr. George Tyion
Xylah
505 Science br., Suite b
Hadiaon, WI 53/11 '1
Dear Hr: Tyson,
I appreciatid your efforts in meeting with us on Sunday, April $.s 1989,
to explore potential designs for your unique product. A large potential
exists for processing cotton by-products, specifically cotton burrs in the
northern cotton growing areas of Texas. This product is removed from the
field and deposited at the gin where it must be removed for feeding or
disposal. Collection in the field and transportation to a central point
has already been accomplished with this product. However, we would be
willing to explore' the potential feeding value of any roughage product that
you were capable of producing not just limited to the cotton burrs. Bos
Technics Research Services can provide commercial feedyard application of
a product or idea faith the precision that is better than smaller animal
Studies provided at the university level.
In the evaluation of g product for a growing beef animal, I would
suggest the possible following design of a trial. The product would be
included in a diet at 0, 25, 50 and 75% of the diet. Each of these treat-
ments should be replicated four times so we would have a four by four
study of Sixteen pens. A study of this design would require approximately
700 head of cattle. The final decision on •the inclusion amounts in a
diet would be dependant upon product availability and the marketing object-
ives of the product:
Enclosed you Will find an implant research report previously released
for publishing from 1985 that will give you some idea of the services
provided by Bog Technica.
George, if we can be of additional service relative to answering
questions concerning the application of your processing methods, please
Irihr
CORPORATE RESEARCH OFFICE • 2000 RIDGEVIEW ROAD • SAUNA, KANSAS 67401
Research Administrator • Dr.Walter C.Koers • (913)825-1358
CORPORATE FINANCIAL OFFICE • P.O.
