We realize that there was a hearing held
prior to your meeting, but failed to receive the notice somewhere
along the line.
The Village of Marshall does have concern as to Mr. Merrick' s
continued building at his present location. Mr. Merrick has
never presented a plan of what he intends to develop to the
Village Board therefore we make the following analysis. The lots
he is requesting to rezone are estimated to be 1200 feet from the
nearest sewer main. One of the comments, from the Regional
Planning Commission, states that Mr. Merrick should make no
additions to this development until there is a plan for services.
We feel your committee should be aware that any extension with
Village services to this property would necessitate a lift
station. The placement of a lift station would be against
Village policy. The Village presently has lots zoned for housing
and feel that these lots should be top priority for residential
development since there is current service available.
Since
Paul Prust
Village President
Village of Marshall
cc: Shary Bisgard, Harland Dahlk, Philip Klein, Lyman Anderson,
J.
