Stateof Wisconsin
CORRESPONDENCE/MEMORANDUM
Date: June 6, 1989 File Ref: 2200
To: William Fleck, Dane County Zoning Administrator
From: Julie Hankes, Madison Area Land Agent
Subject: Conditional Use Permit
The Department of Natural Resources is proposing a boat ramp and parking area
to be constructed on the south shore of Lake Kegonsa in the Town of Dunn. The
Department has made an offer to purchase the two lots adjacent to the ramp at
the end of Quam Drive and will be making an offer to purchase the two lots across
the road. The lots with lake frontage are zoned B-1 and as I understand, will
not need any permit for the construction of a boat ramp. The lots across the
road, however, are zoned R-3 and will need approval of a Conditional Use Permit
for Governmental Use to include a parking area. The offer to purchase these lots
will be contingent upon the approval of the Conditional Use Permit.
The lots which will be improved with a boat ramp, loading area, and parking are
Lots 29 and 30 of Ole J. Quam's Park. The lots to be improved with parking area
across the road are Lots 18 and 19, Kegonsa Heights Plat, Town of Dunn. Planting
of trees for screening from the adjacent residences would be done at the same
time as the construction of the parking area.
The exact timing of the proposed improvements is not certain at this time and
will depend upon funding being available, but we would expect construction to
begin in 1990.
