A STATEMENT OF NEIGHBORHOOD SUPPORT <br /> RECITALS <br /> Mr. Michael S. Peterson, with the assistance of Betty and Bill Von Rutenberg, is undertaking <br /> development of vacant land located in the Town of Westport, adjacent to the Mariner's Inn, north <br /> and west of Westport Road and Lighthouse Bay Drive. The condominium development will be known as <br /> Mariner's Cove at Lighthouse Bay. <br /> In order to accommodate the most feasible condominium development plan, it is desirable that the <br /> location of the unimproved public road known as Hanson's Landing, be discontinued in part and <br /> altered (move westerly about 66 feet) in part, that Hanson's Landing be permitted to remain in an <br /> unimproved state pending future development of the neighboring properties, and that the neighboring <br /> property owners be permitted to use private access through Mariner's Cove. <br /> Michael S. Peterson has proposed to the undersigned the road alteration shown on the attached map <br /> and has represented to the undersigned that all costs associated with alteration of the road pat- <br /> tern, including all expenses of town and county approvals, vacations, alterations and dedications <br /> and construction of the access means, will be the expense of Mariner's Cove without cost or <br /> expenses to the undersigned either directly or/indirectly through municipal special assessments. <br /> STATEMENT OF SUPPORT <br /> The undersigned, owners of lots in Brickson Park Plat which are affected by the Mariner's Cove <br /> proposal, hereby express their support for the proposal represented by the attached map, and more <br /> specifically: <br /> (1) Encourage the Town of Westport, Dane County, and any other governmental authority exercising <br /> jurisdiction, to take whatever action may be necessary to discontinue and relocate the public roads <br /> as proposed on the attached map, and discontinue and vacate those portions of Hanson's Landing and <br /> existing temporary road right of way which are rendered unnecessary thereby as shown on the <br /> attached map. <br /> (2) Encourage the Town of Westport, Dane County, and any other governmental authority exercising <br /> jurisdiction to take whatever action may be necessary to permit the development of Mariner's Cove <br /> at Lighthouse Bay. <br /> (3) The reasons for the support stated herein include the following: <br /> (a) The new Mariner's Cove at Lighthouse Bay will provide a pleasant residential neighbor- <br /> hood which the undersigned, for their separate reasons, believe will be beneficial to them. <br /> (b) Access afforded through the Mariner's Cove development is viewed as not only adequate <br /> but appealing to the undersigned. <br /> (4) This statement of support is made with the following understandings: <br /> (a) None of the undersigned will bear any costs for alteration of the road pattern or <br /> construction or maintenance of the alternative private access and associated improvements, <br /> either directly or indirectly through municipal special assessments. <br /> (b) In those areas where the sewer line is located within a road which is to be discon- <br /> tinued and vacated, the sewer line will not be altered, but will continue to exist under an <br /> easement arrangement with the sewerage district. <br /> (c) At the time the town and county action becomes effective, the undersigned will be granted <br /> a perpetual easement of access over the Mariner's Cove at Lighthouse Bay private drives. <br /> (d) The street and parking lot location on the attached map are approximate and may vary <br /> somewhat from road and parking lot locations as finally laid out for governmental approvals <br /> and dedications. <br /> (e) Private access through Mariner's Cove will be constructed in the near future, but <br /> Hanson's Landing might not ever be constructed on the ground, pending continued development <br /> in the area.
