As I do not drive, I have
to rely on a driver and with the icy roads last Tuesday (1-9-90) , I was
unable to make the hearing.
Several years ago my husband and I had hoped to divide our property so
each of our daughters could build a home. We were told that tillable farm
land could not be changed to residential. We accepted this and it is long
past.
My concern with the present petition is the possible impact on the
neighborhood. It is my feeling that if Jean White is allowed to rezone
from A-1 Ex. Agriculture to R-1A Residential, that this will be the first
step in the breadkdown of the current neighborhood. The property directly
across from my farm, and adjacent to the White property, was bought by the
Bank of Sun Prairie when Mr. & Mrs. Frank Schuster sold. The main
objective in the purchase of this 120 acres was to create a Subdivision. I
feel that if the White's petition is approved, it will be a door opening
for the Bank to rezone their 120 acres: Can you imagine how many houses
can be built on 120 acres?
Furthermore, a potential Subdivision would increase our taxes, as I am
sure we would be called upon to pay for curbs and gutters, and the other
niceties that go with a Subdivision. It would also increase the traffic on
an already highly traveled, fast moving, potentially dangerous road.
1. 8 7999
,v.
