Richards Madison, Wisconsin 53707 <br /> Sectwtary 608/266-3200 <br /> RECORDABLE MYLAR PROCEDURE <br /> Since November 1, 1980, Chapter 236 allows recording final land subdivision plats of <br /> either muslin-backed white paper or polyester film. <br /> When the plat is processed under the procedures specified in s. 236.12 (1) , the <br /> original copy of the final plat can be on any material that is capable of clearly <br /> legible reproduction (see. s. 236.20 (1) (c) , Wis. Stats.) . Soft lead pencils and <br /> blue ballpoint ink should never be used for any part or signature on the drawing since <br /> they don't reproduce legibly. The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer <br /> Protection receives copies of the plat from the clerk of the approving authority. The <br /> following transmittal certificate must be placed on the drawing: <br /> CERTIFICATE OF (CITY) (VILLAGE) (TOWN) (COUNTY) CLERK <br /> STATE OF WISCONSIN) SS <br /> COUNTY) <br /> I, , being the duly (elected) (appointed) , <br /> qualified and acting (city) (village) (town) clerk of the (city) (village) (town) of <br /> , do hereby certify that copies of this plat were forwarded as <br /> required by s. 236.12 (2) on the day of , 19 , and that within the 20-day limit <br /> set by s. 236.12 (3) (no objections to the plat have been filed) (all objections to <br /> the plat have been met) . <br /> (date) (City) (Village) (Town) Clerk <br /> It is the submitting clerk's responsibility to certify, on the face of the plat, that <br /> no objections to the plat have been filed (see s. 236.12 (4) , Wis. Stats.) . After all <br /> approving authorities have inscribed their approval on the plat and all certificates <br /> are executed, the original is reproduced with photographic silver haloid image on <br /> double matte polyester film of not less than 4 mil thickness, 22 inches wide by 30 <br /> inches long. This recordable polyethelene film is made from a line negative. It <br /> cannot be made directly from the original drawing of the subdivision. The technical <br /> name for the acceptable "mylar" is a double matte surfaced matte film cronaflex. The <br /> emulsion is available in contact and projection types, a cronaflex has a permanent <br /> silver haloid image that is not affected by exposure to light. <br /> For further information or comments, contact: <br /> Jeanne A.
