The area within the park boundaries will be used as open space and various park functions as shown on the master plan and fully accessible to the public. The master plan shows the proposed schedule for development of the shelter buildings. This property is suitable for park use because of the open spaces and its distance from commercial and residential development. The surrounding land is mostly agricultural. The Dane County Badger Prairie Health Care Center abuts the park to the south. Residential development abuts the park to the west and the southwest. Refer to the attached master plan showing the location of existing and proposed buildings, access point to the park, parking areas within the park, and proposed landscaping. The park shelters will each have their own sewage septic tanks and drainfields. The Environmental Health Department has been involved in the development of these shelter buildings. Also attached please find a legal description of the park boundaries. I understand that the filing fee of $65.00 is waived for Dane County Parks Department.
