•
Page 2
January 24, 1989
Subject: Conditional use Permits #708 and #709
Governmental Uses - Clay Extraction
We propose to commence construction at the south end of parcel #709
and proceed northerly.
A detention pond of about two (2) acres in size will be initially
developed, as part of the clay removal process, at the south end of parcel
#709 to detain the upland construction area runoff.
Approximately 200 feet of silt fence will be installed along the south
property line of parcel #709 to prevent siltation of the property to the
south which contains a "depressed area" that currently accepts surface
water runoff. See enclosed Exhibit "B".
It is anticipated that possibly two (2) other detention ponds of
similar size will also be constructed within the area that clay is removed
from.
Surface "diversions" in the form of low earthen embankments, made from
the stripped topsoil , will be utilized to control runoff from the
undisturbed planted upland areas entering the construction area.
These diversions together with 50 foot wide "buffer strips" of hay will
also control runoff from the "conventinally farmed" areas not disturbed by
the clay removal process.
Restoration:
Upon completion of the clay removal the disturbed areas will have the
topsoil replaced and planted in hay.
Please note that the landowner (Kamm) intends to "conventionally farm"
the undisturbed areas as shown on Exhibit "B".
I trust that this provides a description of our procedures.
Sincerely,
TERRA :ERI . . • w'*UCTION CORPORATION
Gary .
