County Park. Based on statements made by Dr. Tim Docter at the tape
recorded Blooming Grove town board meeting, Nov. 2, 1988, it is
apparent that he plans to eventually develop the parcel into 10 or 11
lots for sale, starting with the three small lots pictured on the
certified survey developed by Mortgage Survey Associates. The
remaining larger lot will be subsequently developed until the whole
parcel has been subdivided into lots no smaller than 0.5 acre. If
Dr. Docter merely wants to build himself a home in the country, as he
has been formally stating, he can do so without rezoning of this
parcel by removing the existing buildings which he has already stated
he intends to do. Alternatively, he could request a zoning change to
RH1-district, which would allow him to sell a 2 acre lot to make the
money he claims he needs for purchase of the property, and then build
his home in the country on the remaining 6 acres. It is not
necessary to rezone the parcel R1, simply to build a "home in the
country" as Dr. Docter claims he wants to do.
I urge the zoning committee to seriously consider the consequences of
granting a request for developmental zoning, and recommend denial of
this request. A zoning change is not necessary to permit a new
landowner of this parcel to build their own home. Thank you for your
consideration.
Sincerely,
i Melinda Bussey
