i <br /> 1 <br /> • BM881219 <br /> December 19 , 1988 <br /> The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Eugene <br /> Skaar at 8 : 00 P. M. All board members were present with the <br /> exception of Steven Schultz . The minutes of the last regular <br /> meeting were read and approved . <br /> The Treasurers report and due bills were reviewed . A <br /> motion was made by MK/TN to pay all due bills as presented . <br /> Motion carried . <br /> Zoning petition number 4399 . Eleanor Hicks requested a <br /> zone change from A-1 Ex. Agrig. to RH-1 rual homes . After <br /> some discussion, a motion was made by ES/TN to approve the 1 <br /> request to change zoning from A-1 to RH-1 . Motion carried . <br /> Stan Selje gave a report on the condition of the Jacobson <br /> bridge on Vilas Road . He stated that concrete has dropped <br /> away from the bottom prestressing rods on two girders . A <br /> closer inspection will be necessary to determine what can be <br /> done to repair the girders . A motion was made by MK/ES that <br /> Jeff shall inquire as to who can do some bridge repair , and <br /> report back to the Board. Motion carried. <br /> John Dahl and his Atty . , Walt Erbach appeared before the <br /> Board to get approval on the Rolling Wheels Subdivision. Mr . <br /> Dahl stated that he had contacted Dorothy Anderson and <br /> offered to purchase about four acres of her land so that he <br /> could build a road from Vilas Road to the northwest corner of <br /> his land . He would prefer to purchase four acres so that he <br /> could plot some lots to be sold to recoup some of the cost of <br /> constructing a road . His offer to purchase stated that he <br /> would be willing to buy the property for fair market value <br /> which he considers between $500 and $1 , 000 per acre . A <br /> letter to Norb Schribner stating his intentions was read to <br /> the Board . Mr . Skaar stated that Ms . Anderson had stated to <br /> him that she would be willing to sell a minimum amount of <br /> land for the construction of a road , but not extra land for <br /> development . Atty . Erbach stated that to date he has not had <br /> a response from either Ms . Anderson or her attorney . After <br /> more discussion, a motion was made by MK/TN to deny the <br /> subdivision approval . (Roll call ; Truman Nienstedt , aye : <br /> Eugene Skaar , aye : Mike Kindschi , aye: Richard Griffin, nay) . <br /> Motion carried , three to one , to deny approval . <br /> Atty. Mike Cassidy presented the Board with a copy of the <br /> Resolution Designating Public Depositories . A motion was <br /> made by ES/TN that each Board member shall review the <br /> resolution and it shall be put on the agenda for the Jan . 2 , <br /> 1989 meeting. Motion carried. <br /> Ken Krantz of Cottage Grove State Bank asked why the limit <br /> for one depository is placed at $500 , 000 when deposits are <br /> insured for $600 , 000 . Atty . Cassidy explained the aggregate <br /> amount of more than one account may exceed $600 , 000 .
