When Gerald Wood owned the property he had a section of his
land rezoned to AB because he has a trucking company. This AB property
and his agricultural property are adjacent to our backyard. We did not
object to this at the time, being good neighbors. Presently this area
is in very poor condition. In a court case now pending, we have had
nothing but insults said to us about not fighting against AB zoning
"in our back yard." It was like we approved allowing a stockyard,
fertilizer plants, etc. in our back yard.
We have already allowed AB zoning on our side of Burke Road for him
so we are in strong opposition to this north rezoning.
He has for the past several years been illegally parking vehicles on
the forty acre parcel north of Burke Road. After complaints were
filed he has now decided to go for additional AB zoning. All of these
acres are owned by the U.S. Government. I do not understand how
he can even be requesting this rezoning.
The condition of this 40 acres north presently looks like a dumping
ground, so I hate to imagine what it would look like with AB zoning.
I can not see how you could allow or reward people being illegal by
changing rezoning, to make it legal.
I strongly object to Dane County Zoning allowing an AB rezoning on
this property. We feel our land values and the astatic values of our
area must be protected.
The reason why I can not be present tonight to voice my opinion is
because I have to be at the Town of Burke Planning Commission meeting,
as I am a member.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Marilyn K. Simpson
