Persons who visit the park must purchase or
show their admittance stickers at this facility, either at a
drive-up window or by parking their vehicles and entering the
building. The building will be used 12 months of the year.
It includes 2 private offices, secure storage space, normal
storage, space for the display of maps and literature and
general office space.
The building has been designed to be atractive, simple, with
rough-sawn siding exterior and gypsum board interior.
Full wall and ceiling insulation will be used. The building
orientation must be as it is with the drive-up windows at the
"front" south, and other windows to provide visability from the
building to public exterior areas. The drive-up windows will
provide some solar heat. However, their size is limited by the
required counters, storage and racks.
2. The Bath House, at the beach, will provide changing areas,
showers and toilets for bathers. It will be used only in summer
months. It's design will be similar to the Visitors' Station,
and will include a wood sheltered deck, wood open deck, beach
storage and a vending area. These areas increase the apparant
size of the Bath House. However, if they were not made a part
of the wood building, they would be included as adjacent paved
areas. Therefore, they are not additions to the program.
This building will have its own well and will use the existing
sanitary sewer.
3. The Fish Cleaning Station will provide toilets and a place for
fisher persons to clean their fish and dispose of waste
materials.
4. Service Building will provide spaces for general park
maintenance. It will contain two large maintenance and storage
areas (one heated, one unheated) , an office, crew lunch room and
toilet/shower facilities.
C. Energy Considerations
The Gatehouse and Service Buildings are used 12 months a year and
the building envelopes of these buildings will have wall
construction equalling R=30 and the roof R=44. Insulation sheathing
and 6" batt insulation will be utilized in the walls and 12" of batt
insulation provided in the roof area.
Double glazed windows will be provided in both of these buildings
and insulated overhead doors provided for the heated storage portion
of the service building.
-4-
