County of bane
DATE: October 8, 1985
TO: Public Protection/Judiciary Committee
Cal Kornstedt
FROM: Gene R. Rankin, Director 141! v
Land Regulation & Records Depa nt
SUBJECT: §12.06, Dane County Ordinances
At your meeting on October 7, 1984, an apparent discrepancy was noted in the language of
§12.06, Dane County Ordinances, as it is quoted by Ordinance Amendment 7 and Petition
#3533. Neither quotation contained a citation to the subsection of §12.06 that was
being quoted, and that is where the problem arises. Each quotation is of a different
ordinance subsection.
I have reviewed the ordinance and attach a copy. Ordinance Amendment 7 says that §12.06
says the following:
1. "Petitions to amend zoning maps, applications for conditional use
permits, special permits and variances of the land is owned by a
municipality and the governing body submits the petition or
application."
That language tracks precisely the language of §12.06(b) of Dane County Ordinances.
Petition #3533 says that §12.06 says the following:
(a) Petitions to amend the text of the ordinance or the zoning maps when
filed by a County Board Supervisor, by the standing committee of the
County Board designated to consider zoning matters, by the County
Executive or his agents or by other agencies representing the County.
That language, apart from the underlined amendments, tracks precisely the language of
§12.06(a) of the Dane County Ordinances.
Attachment
cc: Agriculture, Environment & Land Records Committee
