No. 0585 <br /> Burning Exemption <br /> As discussed in my letter of December 10, 1985, to you, our Department <br /> attorney has evaluated the legality of your 1983 Burning Exemption. <br /> Based on legal documents provided to us by Mr. James Kenas at 3638 <br /> Graham Paige Road it is evident that Mr. Kenas was a legal resident <br /> living within one quarter mile of the landfill site at the time the <br /> exemption was requested. Because Mr. Kenas' signature was not obtained <br /> for the burning exemption application and because this was the first <br /> exemption requested by the Town, the Department has determined that the <br /> exemption was not granted legally. <br /> The Town of Cottage Grove, therefore, has 30 days from the date of <br /> receipt of this letter to obtain Mr. Kenas' signature on a Burning <br /> Exemption Application (copy enclosed) and submit it to the Department. <br /> If the signature cannot be obtained within 30 days, the Department will <br /> issue you a letter rescinding your exemption to burn at the site. <br /> Please call me if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance on <br /> the above.
