MEMO
To: Rod Matthews
From: Jane Licht
Re : Zoning petition #3580 and conditional use permit #471
(by Consolidated Paving, agent for Russell McCarthy)
Date : 12/3/85
At our December 2nd Ag Committee meeting we discussed
rereferral of this petition. Since I will be at the WLCA
annual meeting in Wausau, Chairman Rendall agreed to ask for
rereferral .
On November 5, 1985, Parks planner Jim Mueller met at
the site with Dean Evert and Russell McCarthy to discuss the
restoration of the Consolidated Paving Quarry as it it
related to the future Russell McCarthy Park. Recommendations
concerning 6 areas were formulated. At that time,
Consolidated Paving President Dean Evert agreed to the recom-
dations but later he requested that the zoning petition be
amended to exclude most of the land discussed on November 5.
Therefore, the conditions agreed to could not be attached to
' the C.U.P. portion of the petition, giving the Committee no
leverage in assuring that the conditions would be carried
out.
The Ag Committee will discuss the petition on December
10 and we request that this petition be placed on the
December 17 board meeting agenda. If the board approves the
petition, Mr . Evert will meet his December 31 deadline for an
extension to operate his hot mix plant for another year.
cc: Ag Committee Members
Bill Fleck
Jim Mueller
6")-■ 0-e-C le z
