The following maintenance and inspection
procedures will be conducted:
1. Inspect the swales and biofilter semiannually and after large storms for settling, erosion,
sediment accumulation, and the health and density of the vegetation. Remove
accumulated sediment and re-vegetate eroded areas immediately.
2. The biofilter will require frequent watering and weeding to initially establish the plant
plugs. Thereafter, weeding and trash and debris removal shall be performed at least twice
annually.
3. Whenever standing water is observed within the biofilter more than 72-hours after the
end of a rain event, the owner shall investigate for cause. If sedimentation/clogging of
the engineered fill is the cause, the engineered fill shall be removed and replaced and the
biofilter replanted.
A draft Long Term Maintenance Agreement is attached.
Conclusions
This memorandum, along with attachments, demonstrates that the Anderson Daycare
development will meet or exceed the erosion control and stormwater management
requirements of Dane County. This memorandum, along with attachments, shall be used by the
owner as the basis of the site's stormwater management plan during construction and after
construction.
List of Attachments
1.
