L
REFUSE HIDEAWAY, INC.
LAND FILL
J.W.DE BECK
7182 HIGHWAY 14 • TELEPHONE(608)836-1071 • MIDDLETON,WISCONSIN 53562
February 23 , 1988
William Fleck
Zoning Administration and Zoning Committee
We are reapplying for a mineral extraction permit which we
formerly had.
Although our site consists of sandstone and limestone,
we will not be using explosives to remove material . We
will be removing only materials which can be removed by normal
excavating procedures using front end loaders, backhoes
or a bulldozer equipped with a ripper.
We will begin our extraction near our east property line.
We will be taking into consideration that M.G. & E. has a
utility easement along our east property line. We will
progress north and west. Our limit to the north will be
a drain swale which is in place to drain water from our
property and the property to the north of us, directing
drainage to our east property line and into a natural
drainway south.
Incidentally as part of our original designing on this property,
drain swales have been constructed so that all water from our
property outside the fill area, and water from property to
the north.east and west ofour property drains around the fill
area, no over it.
Our plan for extraction shows that removal will stop at a
point 70 feet east of the fill area, which has a clay barrier
of minimum of 10 feet wide between the landfill and the
limestone. This is indicated by posts which are installed
along this dividing line. It is our feeling that we may
never remove material to the indicated line . Where ever we stop we
will have an engineer inspect the site for safety purposes and
if need be, we will construct a slope from original grade
at north and west edge of extraction or construct a step
down effect as shown on the plan.
Also there is fencing on all sides of property. The closest
we will come to the north property line will be a minimum
of 15 feet near the west end of extraction area. The bottom
grades of the excavated area will meet the present elevations,
near buildings as shown on plan and raise north, west and east
to end of extracted area to direct drainage to the east.
We thank you for your consideration.
John DeBeck
