a r `
PETITION #3614
r
TO THE DANE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:
Ladies and Gentlemen:
The undersigned petitions the Dane County Board of Supervisors to amend the offi-
cial Dane County Floodplain Zoning Maps by inclusion of the flood storage district
for the East and West branches of Starkweather Creek located in Sections 4 and 5
Town of Blooming Grove and Sections 16, 17, 18, 19,20,21,22,27,33 & 34 Town of Burke
as delineated by the preliminary Flood Insurance Study for Starkweather Creek, City
of Madison-Dane County, by Foth and Van Dyke dated 1985.
EXPLANATION
The flood study recently completed has disclosed that there are sufficient flood
water storage areas within the Starkweather Creek Floodplains to warrant a reduction
of flood insurance rate costs. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
requires that the flood storage areas be protected by and included in floodplain
ordinance regulation prior to consideration of insurance rate reduction.
Respectfully e'bmitted:
J/ /
"111115 • I
..
sr-
. . _ ....,._
Submitted: 11/ 6
