Livingston,AM <br /> Aiip;r1 13 <br /> November 19, 2008 <br /> Ms, Kris Schulte <br /> Assistant Zoning Administrator <br /> Dane County Zoning Division <br /> Department of Planning and Development <br /> Room 116, City-County Building <br /> Madison, WI 53709 <br /> Re: Appeal 3549 - Madison High Crossing Lodging Invest II LLC request of for variance from <br /> HLZ Ordinance, Fairfield Inn project, near US Highway 151/Interstate 90-94 <br /> intersection, Madison. <br /> Dear Ms. Schutte: <br /> Below are the conditions the Airport requests the Board of Adjustment establish for issuance of <br /> the requested temporary variance for the construction crane to be located at the above <br /> referenced address. <br /> (1) Applicant shall comply with all conditions and recommendations set forth in Federal Aviation <br /> Administration Aeronautical Study No. 2008-AGL-7283-0E, <br /> (2) Prior to erecting the construction crane that is the subject of the temporary variance, <br /> applicant shall provide John Robinson. Dane County Regional Airport Director of Operations <br /> and Public Safety (office: (608) 246-3392, cell: (608) 235-6417), with the name and telephone <br /> number of an individual(s) having authority over operation and placement of the crane while it is <br /> on the construction site, <br /> (3) Applicant shall contact John Robinson, Dane County Regional Airport, at least three days <br /> before the crane height will first exceed 107 feet above ground level (AGL) or 1076 feet above <br /> mean sea level (AMSL). <br /> (4) At all times when the height of the crane exceeds 107 feet AGL or 1076 feet AMSL, the <br /> highest point of the crane shall be marked during daylight hours with an orange and wh:te <br /> checkered construction flag measuring at least three feet by three feet, and with a red <br /> obstruction light, with a minimum intensity of 32.5 candela, from two hours before sunset until <br /> two hours after sunrise and during periods of reduced visibility. <br /> (5) Neither the ccnstruction crane nor any equipment or other items attached to the crane, <br /> except the above described the flag and light, shall at any time exceed a height of 150 feet AGL <br /> or 1119 AMSL. <br /> (5) Applicant shall notify John Robinson, Dane County Regional Airport Director of Operations <br /> and Public Safety, when the crane is permanently lowered to a height equal to or less than 107 <br /> feet AGL or 1076 feet AMSL. <br /> :411: Litin vcie <br /> Ili' 2,u;1-2-16-1 itia t):13;24 f, i nr. <br />• <br />
