F. H. RAEMISCH SONS, INC.
Waunakee, Wisconsin 53597
Telephone 849-4563
March 6, 1986
•
RE: Petition // 3619
Cond. Use Permit // 481
To Whom It May Concern:
A few questions were raised at the most recent town meeting. With this letter
we wish to answer two of them.
1 . ) We will not be charging for hauling fill back to our pit and dumping.
We do not charge a dumping fee and never have. If our trucks are used
in the hauling, then there will be an hourly truck charge for the use of
the truck and that is it.
2. ) If both the petition and permit are approved, then the remaining hole or
holes will be filled a much faster rate. We wish to give you the following
example.
In our present operation, we are operating the Tierney Pit. Across the
road from us is our old pit which is called the Walsh Pit. Ninety-five
percent of our customers are construction firms. Quite often, when they
come to pick up material for a job site, they haul back misc. material
from the site to dump at the Walsh Pit. This fills up the Walsh Pit
faster than letting nature run its course or leaving it open for the
average individual to dump his or her garbage. When the pit is full, we
cover everything back up with the topsoil. This increases the value of
the land. When we had finished taking material out of the Walsh pit, Mr.
Walsh asked us to buy it for $ 500.00 per acre. Now, that it is almost
filled in, we offered $ 1300.00 an acre last week to buy it. Mr. Walsh
turned us down. He stated he wanted $ 1800.00 per acre.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Respectfully,
Robert Raemisch
