, .,, Dane County Planning & Development
TI ,1 Division of Zoning
hi`\\sc rat •
October 30, 2008
Harold and Agnes Schlimgen
1534 County Road JG
Mt. Horeb, WI 53572
RE: Substantial Farm Income Review—Farm Plan#FP-186
Dear Mr. &Mrs. Schlimgen,
Pleased be advised that we have completed the review of your Substantial Farm Income Review
application #FP-186. The review has determined that your proposed project conforms to the
applicable provisions of the Dane County Code of Ordinances. The three criteria reviewed for
this application were: 1) consistency with the county Agricultural Plan (Dane County Farmland
Preservation Plan); 2) consistency with agricultural uses, and; 3) consistency with income
earning requirements.
Based on a review of the information presented, you satisfy all the criteria required for Dane
County Zoning to issue a zoning permit to construct a secondary farm residence on your
property, provided you satisfy the following conditions:
1) The resident of the primary single-family residence must continue to earn substantial
income, as defined by Dane County Zoning, from the farm operation. In addition, the
resident of the secondary farm residence shall earn a substantial part of his or her
livelihood from the farm operation on the property. These conditions must continue to be
met or the structures will be considered illegal and non-conforming in the future. The
Document of Understanding of Dane County Zoning Division Policies Towards Inactive
or Void Farm Plans explains this in detail. Please be sure to read this document and
understand its implications.
Sincerely,
Roger ior Lane III
Dane County Zoning Administrator
Cc: Zoning Inspector Patrick Klinkner
Primrose Town Clerk
210 Martin Luther King Jr.Blvd.❖Room 116,City-County Bldg.❖Madison,WI 53703-3342•:•Phone:608.266.4266❖Fax:608.267.1540
