Judy Rendall
Chairperson
9044 Farview Road
Mazomanie, WI 53560
Re: Zoning Petition 3642, Big Sky Plat
Town of Middleton
Dear Ms . Rendall:
We represent Executive Management, Inc. ( "EMI" ) , the owner
of certain lands in the Big Sky Plat on Mineral Point Road . A
very small portion of this property lies within the Town of
Middleton; the remainder is in the City of Madison. The small
area in the Town of Middleton is approximately 0. 1 acres in
size and is currently zoned C-1, Commercial District. EMI has
filed a petition to rezone these lands to C-2, Commercial
District. A copy of the petition is attached to this letter .
This petition will be heard at the April 8, 1986 meeting of the
Dane County Agriculture, Environment and Land Records
Committee; we urge your approval of this petition at that
hearing.
The rezoning is necessary to allow the sale and use of Lot
14 of the Big Sky Plat. The Dane County Zoning Administrator
has indicated that no building permit would be issued for a
building which lies partly in the Town of Middleton and partly
in the City of Madison. Therefore, the only possible use for
the portion of land in Lot 14 of the Big Sky Plat which lies in
the Town of Middleton is for that of a parking lot which would
be adjacent to a building which is located in the City of
Madison. In order to accomplish this purpose, the land must be
rezoned to C-2, since parking lots are permitted in that
District, but not in the C-1 District. The Zoning
Administrator has also indicated that the two tiny parcels of
land located at the northern-most parts of Lot 1 and Lot 16 of
the Big Sky Plat which now are in the Town of Middleton should
also be rezoned to C-2 .
