AMEND. NO. 2"7 , 2008-2009 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br /> 21 CLARIFYING DEFINITION OF BUILDING HEIGHT <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Dane does ordain as follows: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 ARTICLE 1. Unless otherwise expressly stated herein, all references to section <br /> 26 and chapter numbers are to those of the Dane County Code of Ordinances. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 ARTICLE 2. Section 10.01(8) is amended to read as follows: <br /> 29 10.01 DEFINITIONS. For the purposes of this chapter certain terms used herein <br /> 30 are defined as set forth in this section. Words and phrases not defined in this <br /> 31 section or elsewhere in the ordinance shall be construed by resort to the <br /> 32 following, in order of preference: Wisconsin Statutes; Wisconsin zoning case <br /> 33 law; other states' zoning case law; the dictionary; and common usage. <br /> 34 (8) Building height. The vertical distance, measured from the mean elevation <br /> 35 of the finished grade along the front of the building to the highest point on the <br /> 36 roof for flat roofs; to the mean height level between tho oavoc and the ridgo the <br /> 37 highest ridge and its associated eave for gable and hip roofs; to the deck line for <br /> 38 mansard roofs. The front of the building shall be the side directly facing the <br /> 39 public or private thoroughfare which affords primary means of access to the <br /> 40 property, excluding the driveway. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 [EXPLANATION: This amendment revises the definition of `Building Height"and <br /> 43 clarifies how it is determined which side of a building is considered to be the front <br /> 44 of the building.] <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 08-10[BuildingHeight]:112108:DRG:N <br />
