Livingston,AAE <br /> Airport Director <br /> September 18, 2008 RECEIVED <br /> Kris Schutte SEP 19 2008 <br /> Assistant Zoning Administrator <br /> Dane County Zoning Division <br /> DANE COUNTY PLANNING&DEVELOPMENT <br /> Department of Planning and Development <br /> Room 116, City-County Building <br /> Madison, WI 53709 <br /> Re: Request of Madison CS Hospitality LLC for variance from HLZ Ordinance <br /> Cambria Suites project, 5045 East Park Boulevard, Madison. <br /> Dear Ms. Schutte: <br /> Below are the conditions the Airport requests the Board of Adjustment establish for <br /> issuance of the requested temporary variance for the construction crane to be located at <br /> the above referenced address. <br /> (1) Applicant shall comply with all conditions and recommendations set forth in Federal <br /> Aviation Administration Aeronautical Study No. 2008-GL-5351-OE. <br /> (2) Prior to erecting the construction crane that is the subject of the temporary variance, <br /> applicant shall provide John Robinson, Dane County Regional Airport Director of <br /> Operations and Public Safety (office: 608.246.3392, cell: 608.235.6417), with the name <br /> and telephone number of an individual(s) having authority over operation and placement <br /> of the crane while it is on the construction site. <br /> (3) Applicant shall contact John Robinson, Dane County Regional Airport Director of <br /> Operations and Public Safety, at least three days before the crane height will first <br /> exceed 103 feet above grade or 1009 feet above AMSL. <br /> (4) At all times when the height of the crane exceeds 103 feet above grade or 1009 feet <br /> above AMSL the highest point of the crane shall be marked during daylight hours with an <br /> orange and white checkered construction flag measuring at least three feet by three feet, <br /> and with a red obstruction light, with a minimum intensity of 32.5 candela, from two <br /> hours before sunset until two hours after sunrise and during periods of reduced visibility. <br /> (5) Neither the construction crane nor any equipment or other items attached to the <br /> crane, except the above described the flag and light, shall at any time exceed a height of <br /> 126 feet above grade or 1032 AMSL. <br /> (6) Applicant shall notify John Robinson, Dane County Regional Airport Director of <br /> Operations and Public Safety, when the crane is permanently lowered to a height equal <br /> to or less than 103 feet above grade or 1009 feet above AMSL. <br /> 4000 International Lane Madison,WI 53704 <br /> Phone: 608-246-3380 Fax: 608-246-3385 www.msnairport.com <br />
