Memorandum <br /> • <br /> MCI <br /> Date March 1, 1984 To Mr. Jim Stewart Dept./Loc. - <br /> Subject Filing of an Application From Mr. James C. Ussery Dept./Loc. - <br /> for a Conditional Use Permit <br /> in Dane County <br /> Dear Mr. Stewart: <br /> As per your instructions, this is a letter of transmittal regarding the above- <br /> noted application. <br /> A. Proposed Use of the Property <br /> MCI Telecommunications Corporation, a public utility company, proposes to <br /> construct a micro-wave tower not to exceed 300 feet in height to transmit its <br /> long distance telephone calls into the Madison area. <br /> B. Time Schedule for Development <br /> Construction on the proposed site is presently scheduled to begin in the <br /> Spring of 1984 and completed in approximately 90 working days. <br /> C. Reasons Why the Property is Suitable for the Proposed Use <br /> The location of the site is in a rural area near Verona, Wisconsin. A portion <br /> of the land has been previously rezoned A-2 in Petition No. 2791 approved <br /> November 3, 1981 , to accommodate the construction of a tower by Mt. Vernon <br /> Telephone Company. <br /> MCI Telecommunications tower would be located on the same tract of land owned <br /> by LaVerne C. Hagemann and his wife Pearl L. Hagemann. <br /> The telephone tower would not interfere with the continued use of the land <br /> for agricultural purposes. <br /> D. Description of the Land within 300 Feet of the Property Proposed for a <br /> Conditional Use Permit <br /> All of the property within 300 feet of the proposed tower is owned by LaVerne <br /> C. Hagemann and is zoned either A-1 or A-2. <br /> M-179(10.82) <br />
