The
material excavated will be used to construct a clay-lined sanitary
landfill on a nearby site. The landfill site (Dane County Sanitary
Landfill No. 2) will be owned and operated by Dane County.
It is anticipated that the available clay material will be excavated
during the months of June, July and August, 1984.
The Dane County Public Works Department has performed field investigations
to determine the types of soil that exist on-site and to determine its
suitability for landfill construction. The investigations revealed that
approximately 180, 000 cubic yards of silty clay loess soil suitable for
landfill construction exists on-site. The clay material overlies the
entire site in depths from 2-16 feet.
A comprehensive site plan and restoration plan will be submitted at a
later date.
The land uses within 300 feet of the site are agricultural , residential
and commercial.
Dane County requests that this application be considered and approved
immediately after the public hearing scheduled for June 12, 1984 .
Sin -rely,
Alf
1110," ,/ —16,7
Fred A.
