As you are aware, the single- <br /> family residence, which is located at 357 Lake Shore Drive, is within the floodplain as noted on FIRM map <br /> panel number 55025C0850F effective June 17, 2003 as is considered a non-conforming structure. <br /> :. y <br /> A site inspection was conducted on your property on July 15, 2008. It was observed the floodwaters from the <br /> last storm event significantly damaged your single-family structure. It was observed the floodwaters reached <br /> approximately 8" above the first floor elevation and substantially damaged the residence in excess of 50% <br /> of the assessed value. See attached assessment information. <br /> Under Dane County Code of Ordinance Section 17.11 (1)(b), non-conforming structures within the floodplain <br /> which are destroyed which exceeds 50% of their assessed value cannot be repaired, reconstructed, or rebuilt, <br /> unless the structure is brought in full compliance with the Floodplain regulations as found under Dane County <br /> Code of Ordinance, Chapter 17, Floodplain Zoning. <br /> Since the non-conforming structure was damaged in excess of 50% of the value, you are hereby instructed to <br /> bring the entire structure into compliance with structures located within the flood fringe area as noted under <br /> DCCO, 17.09(3), see attached.
