TRANSAMERICA CORPORATION <br /> 4610 UNIVERSITY AVENUE,SUITE 1400,MADISON,WISCONSIN 53705-0900 • (608)231-4450 <br /> PLEASE ADDRESS REPLY TO P.O.BOX 5900, MADISON,WI 53705-0900 <br /> August 19, 1987 <br /> Dane County Zoning Department <br /> Room 116, City-County Building <br /> Madison, WI 53709 <br /> Attn: Lyman Anderson <br /> RE: Zoning Petition - #4041 AUG 20 1981 <br /> Linus Bollig <br /> Dear Mr. Anderson: <br /> As a neighbor of Linus Bollig, Capitol Transamerica Corporation requests <br /> that the Planning Commission not give Mr. Bollig his request for rezoning <br /> his land to C-2. <br /> Upon the rezoning change that you had given previously, Capitol Trans- <br /> america Corporation has had severe problems with persons dumping items <br /> such as engine blocks, car doors, tires, transmissions, building materials <br /> and other such items on Capitol Transamerica Corporation's property. <br /> We did not have this problem prior to the auto repair shop operation. <br /> We have advised the City of Madison Police Department, the Dane County <br /> Sheriff's Department and they have tried without success to apprehend <br /> the people who have been dumping the items described above on our property. <br /> If you will check your plat book, you will find that we own 120 acres <br /> adjoining Mr. Bollig's property. <br /> We do not feel that a used car or auto repair shop such as is presently <br /> being used enhances the property but does give the appearance of a junk <br /> yard which in turn decreases the value of our property. <br /> We would like to have your views and advise us just exactly what the <br /> Zoning Department's feelings are.
