Anderson and Committee Members: <br /> You have received separately a letter we signed with our neighbors <br /> objecting to aspects of the proposed plat cited above . But we wanted to send <br /> this personal letter , as well , to underscore our deep feelings about this <br /> matter . <br /> The reasons in the joint letter are sound ones for not permitting an <br /> extension of Pine Cone Circle . We hope that you will carefully consider this <br /> matter and see our objections are sustainable . We are not opposed to <br /> development , per se . We are concerned, however , that the developer has not <br /> considered alternative access to the 40 acres. For example , there is an <br /> adjacent out lot to the south leading to streets that connect with Airport <br /> Road which cannot be used for any residential purpose . This means of access <br /> would be more favorable, both for traffic safety (controlled intersection at <br /> Airport Road and U.S. 12) and for emergency rescue equipment (saving 1-1/2 <br /> miles) . We especially need the help of you and your county committee to <br /> assist in reaching an accommodation to use this otherwise wasted land as it is <br /> in an adjacent town (Middleton) , an accident of geography that could dash <br /> hopes for overall intelligent planning of this development project . <br /> At the 9/15/87 hearing at Springfield Township , the major concern was <br /> access to the forty-acre development . Those living in the Pine Cone Circle <br /> area are united in feeling that the extension of Pine Cone Circle is <br /> unacceptable and asked that the Committee delay its decision on the rezoning <br /> until an acceptable alternative is found.
