Areas of special recreational, scenic or scientific interest, including <br /> scarce wetland types. <br /> The portion of the shoreland-wetland zoning district petitioned for rezone <br /> provides shoreline protection against soil erosion, filters and stores <br /> sediments, functions in flood control by its storm and flood water storage <br /> capacity, and provides much needed fish and wildlife habitat. <br /> Mr. Eldon Johnson was contacted on January 8, 1988, on the reasons for the <br /> wetland rezone denial. It is the intent of the Department of Natural Resources <br /> to work closely with Mr. Johnson in the future planning and development of his <br /> golf course project within the standards of Wisconsin's shoreland-wetland <br /> program. <br /> Please provide this office with confirmation of zoning action retaining this <br /> portion of the shoreland-wetland zoning district.
