B & G has applied to amend conditional use <br /> permit no. 460 in order to allow the further expansion of <br /> the Eastgate Cinemas to add four additional screens and <br /> accessory parking to the existing six screen theatre complex. <br /> This application will come before the Agriculture, Environment, <br /> and Land Records Committee for a public hearing on November 10, <br /> 1987. Because of the imminent approach of Winter, we are <br /> requesting the Committee to approve issuance of the conditional <br /> use permit on November 10, in order to facilitate construction <br /> of the theatre foundation prior to the onset of Winter. <br /> Ideally, this project should be completed in time for the <br /> holiday season. <br /> B & G is an affiliate of the Marcus Theatre chain and <br /> has enjoyed an outstanding reputation for high quality <br /> presentation of fine feature films. The theatres are both <br /> comfortable and spacious and the screen and sound systems <br /> are state of the art. After construction, the ten screen <br /> theatre should seat a maximum of 2, 759 people. While Section <br /> 10.18 (4) (f) of the Dane County Zoning Ordinance requires <br /> only 395 parking spaces to be provided for this project, <br /> B & G intends to supply 565 spaces for both on-site and off-site <br /> parking to accommodate its customers. <br /> The Board of the Town of Burke has unanimously approved <br /> this application and has forwarded its approval to the Dane <br /> County Zoning Administrator. We therefore request that this <br /> conditional use permit be approved by the Agriculture, <br /> Environment and Land Records Committee and that the conditional <br /> use permit be issued on Tuesday, November 10 , 1987. <br />
