P. 665 <br /> I am writing this letter to comment on the Zoning Petition No . <br /> 4229 C .U. P. 665, to change the zoning from the A-1 Ex. <br /> Agriculture district , to the A-2 Agriculture district , and also <br /> for mineral extraction site and existing single family residence. <br /> As I will be out of town and unable to attend the Hearing, I wish <br /> to submit my written concerns . <br /> The area proposed for the mineral extraction site is adjacent to <br /> Highway 151 . It is also adjacent to Hwy 78, one of two on/off <br /> ramps to the Village of Mt . Horeb. <br /> The Village of Mt . Horeb is currently promoting tourism and <br /> industrial growth. Along with this promotion is an effort to <br /> make the Village more attractive . I am concerned what a mineral <br /> extraction site would create visibly for people coming and <br /> leaving our community, plus what type of view those traveling <br /> along Highway 151 will have. <br /> This site is also in the Urban Service Area of the Village of Mt . <br /> Horeb. We have , on a number of occasions , shown this site to <br /> prospective commercial and industrial developers . The site is an <br /> ideal location for industrial or commercial growth due to its <br /> location. The Village has determined this site can be served by <br /> Village utilities . <br /> To the east of the site there currently exists commercial <br /> development . It is obvious any commercial and industrial growth <br /> in the Village will be to the west. <br />
