PETITION NO 3775, <br /> PETITION TO AMEND THE TEXT OF THE DANE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE. <br /> TO THE DANE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS: <br /> Ladies & Gentlemen: <br /> The undersigned hereby petitions the Dane County Board <br /> of Supervisors to amend the text of the Zoning Ordinance as follows: <br /> Item: 1) . Create a new Section 10.123 (2) (e) as follows: <br /> 10.123 (2) (e) Mineral Extraction subject to the following: <br /> 1) . Approval of the pertinent town board is required. <br /> 2) . Application, operation, etc. shall be pursuant to Section <br /> 10.12 (2) mineral extraction provisions. <br /> EXPLANATION: <br /> Twenty-seven towns have adopted A-1 Exclusive. Mineral extraction is not <br /> currently a permitted or conditional use in the A-1 Ex. District. Therefore, <br /> a change in zoning to a permitted district is required. This requirement <br /> causes a minimum of 3 months delay for some projects and is causing <br /> unnecessary hardship for contractors particulary when highway projects are <br /> involved.
