PH JAN 1 3 1987 /TEM NO °21I
PET/T/ON C.U.P. NO.
E.H.D.
3860 We will object to this petition. We have not had soils data
submitted for review.
CO HWY.
Petition 3860 . We have discussed this subdivision with the
engineering staffs of the State and City, and with
representatives of Menards . We have significant concerns
relative to the location of the present access and the
ability of CTH "S" to handle the additional traffic load
without improvements . The present access was approved by the
Wisconsin Department of Transportation in conjunction with
the old improvements to the West Beltline . The existing
access is located too close to the Beltline ramps and should
— be relocated to the west or to "M" to a point south of the
West Side Businessman's Club in order to facilitate the
ingress and egress to the proposed facility. Roadway
widening improvements with the addition of turn lanes should
also be provided either on "M" or "S" to allow for safe and
unconjested traffic flows in the area of the proposed
accesses . We feel any improvements required should be at the
expense of the developer. Plans to accommodate the increased
drainage from the site should also be taken into account and
the drainage structures across "S" expanded to accommodate
additional drainage flows . This should also be at the
expense of the developer. Both "M" and "S" are access
controlled and if the present access is moved to the west or
relocated to "M" an access permit application or approval
would be required from the Transportation Committee . If the
new access is to be a town road, town board approval would
also be required.
T. BD.
• RES. P H.
