APR 2 2 1981 Madison, Wi . 53703 Zoning Commity: This is in regards to the re-zoning of the George Murphy property. (Petition 3910) . I have enclosed a map to identify my parcel of property in conjunction to Mr. Murphy and the opposition. My husband and I see no reason the Murphys or anyone else wanting to raise animals for economic or hobby reasons, not be allowed the opportunity to do so, as long as they are within the required regulations . Mr . Murphy has always had small animals and thought they were within the required regulations , but since they are not , have asked to be re-zoned to continue to raise these animals . We are not sure on how some of the comments brought up by the opposition could affect this re-zoning, but we feel we must comment on at least a portion so that the proper conclusion of our community be portrayed . We have lived on Hwy N for more than thirteen years . The Murphys have lived there for nine years . In this period of time, we have never smelt their animals . However, we can smell the animals on the farm, (as indicated on map) , directly adjacent our land . We also have odors when manure is being spred in the area . Since we live in a rural farm area , we expect to smell and hear these animals . We have two bars located just down (north) the street from all our houses. We have more noise and hazards from the people and traffic then from all the animals in the area . (We have lost three street poles in less than a year) . We are much more concerned about this , expecially for those families with small children. We have had drunk drivers lose control of their cars and drove on our yard. Our son was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in the bike lane . This is also a truck route . The opposition has continually harassed many of the people in
