{
October 18 , 1988
Dane County Zoning OCT 19 1988
Mr. Bill Fleck
210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. p
City-County Bldg. Room 116 REC E,`4.0
Madison, WI 53709
Dear Mr. Fleck:
This letter is written in reference to petition 4012 ,
James Zieske - Farm Credit Services. I believe that this
petition should be denied.
Here are the reasons for denial :
This is a prime piece of Agricultural land. This A-1
farm has buildings that are fairly modern and were used for
milking cows up until recently.
If divided you will have 3 large modern usable silos, a
modern milking parlor, a large holding barn, 2 other large
sheds (at least 100 feet long ) , and 2 other smaller sheds
(about 40 by 40 ) on 10 acres of land with a deed restriction
limiting the livestock to 20 head. This is ridiculous.
The buildings are already in bad need of paint . What
are these buildings going to be used for? They will be left
to deteriorate and look like hell . There isn' t enough boats
and campers that need storage in that area.
This property is less than 5 miles from Edgerton. The
area is depressed enough without contributing to it .
Between Albion - 1 mile away and Edgerton there is a 5
year supply of homes for sale. You don' t need to break up
prime agricultural land to provide housing to that area.
If divided the other 50 acres would probably be sold to
someone to build a home on. This again would contribute to
urban sprawl and take prime agricultural land out of
production.
I am very confident that Farm Credit and Mr. Zieske can
sell the whole parcel , no problem. In fact I would be a
potential buyer.
There is no hardship being placed on Farm Credit
Services by not dividing this prime agricultural land.
