DANE COUNTY
HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
PAUL G. RAPP, COMMISSIONER
2302 Fish Hatchery Road, Madison, Wisconsin 53713
phone: 266-4261
May 5 , 1987
Bill Fleck
Dane County Zoning Administrator
Room 116
City-County Building •
Madison, WI 53709
Dear Mr. Fleck :
RE: Request for conditional use permits to erect salt storage
buildings .
Attached you will find descriptions and drawings noting five
optional locations for salt storage buildings in Dane County.
We are presently in negotiations with the property owners to
acquire the necessary private property at three of the sites
submitted. If we can' t purchase the private property we will
be undertaking the following options which are contained within
the five property descriptions submitted.
1 . Intersection of USH 12 & 18 & Sigglekow Road - We
will install a building within the excess State R.O.W.
that exists at the SE corner of this intersection. We
understand conditional use will still be required for
this option.
2 . Mt . Horeb Garage - We will install the building on
the present existing garage site, or the State R.O.W. at
the CTH "ID" and USH 18-151 intersection rather than on
the adjacent property. We understand that a building
permit is all that is required at our existing garage,
but a conditional use is needed to place it in the
right-of-way.
3 . STH 19 & I 90-94 - We will install the building on
the excess State R.O.W. directly adjacent to the private
parcel we are presently trying to purchase. We
understand that a conditional use will still be required
for this option. The present right-of-way is contained
within the overall description for the STH 19 & I 90-94
site .
