ShS State Historical Society of Wisconsin
1846 816 State Street•Madison,Wisconsin 53706-1482• 608/264-6400 0 Fax:264-6404
•
February 7, 2000
Michael Thompson
2212 Parmenter St.
Middleton, Wisconsin 53562
Dear Mr. Thompson,
Thank you for meeting with me on February 3rd to conduct a walkover survey for
evidence of burial sites on your lot at the end of Privett Road, Town of Roxbury,
Wisconsin. I am pleased to know you share our concern for the preservation of burial
sites in Wisconsin. Since no evidence of burial sites was identified during the walkover
survey, I do not suggest specific recommendations for your project. In the event that
unknown burial sites are discovered during construction activities, I ask that you
familiarize yourself with Wisconsin's Burial Sites Preservation law, Wis. Slats. 157.70
(copy enclosed). Upon discovery of a burial site, the first step is to stop construction and
immediately contact the Burial Sites Preservation office (800.324.7834). Please
telephone me at 608.261.2458 if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
6;10,11.
Shawn M.
