02/24/2003 with Conditions; CUP 1810 for a horse boarding facility with unlimited livestock
became effective 06/10/2003, with Conditions.
Unfortunately, CUP 1810 is now void, since you told me that no horse boarding use was
initiated on the 3.4 acre A-2(2)zoned area within one year from the date the CUP was granted,
as per Section 10.255(2)(n) DCCO (see copy attached). I am also enclosing a copy of the
official CUP document, stamped to show that CUP 1810 became null and void 06/10/2004.
(Please note the Conditions under which CUP 1810 was originally granted, including a
requirement for a Stormwater Management Permit and pasturing of no more than 25 horses
only on the A-1 EX zoned portion of your property.)
If you wish to apply for a new Conditional Use Permit for horse boarding, I would be glad to
assist you, but recommend that you first contact Town of Cross Plains Clerk Ann Walden at
798-0189 and ask to appear before the Town Board and/or Plan Commission to discuss the
proposed use. Note that horse boarding is listed as a CUP under either A-2(2) or A-1 EX. I am
enclosing CUP application information.
If you do not intend to board any horses in the proposed 75'x200'barn (that is, if all horses &/or
other livestock in the barn are owned by you), or if the barn is used for any other permitted
agricultural use, then no Zoning Permit is required for the barn. Nevertheless, the barn must
meet the minimum 75 foot setback from the Ordinary High Water Mark of the Sugar River and
must be located outside of the floodplain.
Please contact me if you have any questions or if you need more information.
Sincerely,
Kristine L.
