Schutte, Kristine
From: Widish, Shawn
Sent: Tuesday, January 02, 2007 7:38 AM
To: Schutte, Kristine
Cc: Widish, Shawn
Subject: RE: Meeting with Dale Scholl
Good Morning Kris, I am not certain who else Dale has dealt with, aside from Ryan at Land Con., but know I have worked
with him on three occasions and each time a little more comes out.... This is the first I am hearing of boarding horses.
believe my first interaction was a month or two ago and you assisted regarding shoreland/floodzone and placement of a
shed. I believe ultimately you conclude that meeting as he was difficult. Even prior to that I am finding, Peter went out and
did a ordinary high water mark determination, this was just revealed Wednesday of last week. The seconding meeting with
Dale was regarding the permit process. I provided the checklist and went through everything required regarding
zoning....the elevation was determined wouldn't be required as is an Ag building. You may remember that conversation as
well. The last was a fax copy I received and voicemail last Wednesday of his proposed building. The majority of this
interaction was explaining that as per our earlier discussion a "scaled"drawing of a site plan is required. I spoke with you
again about this (+/-)for setbacks due to the space available. I also spoke with him about possibly needing a location
survey due to the distance from the river. He admitted he is a bit confused as he doesn't always remember things very
well?
Unfortunately Jared, my oldest, was up last night vomiting. Kerry has to be in the office today and is my field day so need
to stay home with him. If I am able I will do what I can from home.
I hope everything is well for tomorrow. Email or call if you need anything and sorry for the inconvenience.
sw
Original Message
From: Schutte,Kristine
Sent: Friday,December 29,2006 12:53 PM
To: Fleck,William; Widish,Shawn
Subject: Meeting with Dale Scholl
Hi Bill and Shawn-- I had quite a long phone conversation with Dale Scholl (8908 Domini Road, T. of Cross Plains 33)
this morning, and learned he has had conflicting information when talking with zoning staff on previous occasions. He
wants to build a large horse barn, and has Shoreland and Floodzone location issues, and possible horse boarding use
issues.
He is willing to meet with us at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Will you both be available? Let's plan to talk
about this situation at 8:00 a.m. that morning to prepare for the meeting— I'll gather as much information as possible in
advance. Please put this meeting on your calendars. Thanks, Kris
P.S. Shawn, Hope it's OK that I took the Scholl site plan from your desk.
Kris Schutte
Assistant Zoning Administrator
Dane County Zoning Division
Department of Planning and Development
608.266.9084
schutte @co.dane.wi.us
1
