PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is involves the construction of an 11 foot wide gravel driveway with
access to Hillside Road (anticipated construction in 2017) and a new residential
home. As the gravel drive is planned to be at-grade and 6" thick, minimal
disturbed area will occur and is anticipated at 18,123 square feet (including home
construction).
On-site soils, as depicted in the USDA Custom Soil Resource Report are
predominantly silt loams. See report for further detail and aerial photo.
DRAINAGE PATTERNS
The west end of the site drains north, then easterly, ultimately to Rice Lake. The
east end of the site drains east to Rice Lake which lies 88 feet east of the nearest
disturbance. No storm water treatment facilities will be constructed with the
project, as the disturbance is anticipated to be less than 20,000 sf.
CONSTRUCTION SITE EROSION CONTROL
Erosion control best management practices (BMPs) will be implemented to
control soil erosion in various areas.
The attached plan sheet 6 indicates BMPs to be used. A stone tracking pad, and
rip-rap will be installed per plan details.
Anticipated project schedule
The anticipated project schedule is as follows:
April- Begin mobilization/install construction exit/begin driveway installation
operations
May-Finish operations, ensure bmps are installed.
*Schedule may need to be adjusted depending on permits/approvals, project
bidding, weather, or unforeseen circumstances. Erosion control/stabilization
procedures may need to be adjusted with any scheduling changes.
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AND REQUIREMENTS
The owner or owner's agent shall inspect and maintain all construction site
erosion control measures weekly during construction, and after each rainfall of
0.5" or more. Repairs should be made as soon as possible. Inspection reports
should be kept readily available for Town, County, and DNR viewing.
