On-Premise Advertising Signs
<br /> An on-premise advertising sign is defined as a sign which directs attention to a business, commodity, service,
<br /> items, or entertainment, sold, offered or conducted on the same premises that the sign is located.

<br /> A-I,A-Iex,A-2,A-3 Agriculture District C-I,C-2 Commercial District
<br /> A-B Ag Business District LC-I Limited Commercial District
<br /> B-I Local Business Districtt M-I Industrial District
<br /> Ground on-premise signs*shall have a maximum size and height determined by the speed limit of the adjacent highway as follows:
<br /> Road Speed(MPH) Maximum size(sq.ft.) Maximum Height(ft)

<br /> Over 45 96 20
<br /> *There shall be no more than one such sign for each road frontage.
<br /> *The sign shall be located not more than 200 feet from the site advertised on the sign. except that signs for residential or commercial plats,
<br /> Limited Family Business and recreational facilities such as golf courses and camp grounds may be installed at the property entrance locations
<br /> even though the signs might be more than 200 feet from the site advertised.
<br /> Pylon signs*shall have a maximum size and height based on the speed limit of the adjacent highway as follows:

<br /> 35 or less 100 20
<br /> 36—45 200 35
<br /> Over 45 300 50
<br /> Within 2,500 ft of an Interstate 500 150
<br /> Highway
<br /> *There shall be no more than one such sign per parcel and the sign shall be located on the same parcel as the site advertised on the sign.
<br /> ❑ The total sign copy area of all on-premise signs related to a business shall not exceed the maximum permitted sign copy area.
<br /> ❑ Plantings or structures that exceed 30 inches in height are prohibited beneath ground and pylon signs.
<br /> ❑ For electronic signs,the height of the sign shall be determined by the manner of installation of the sign,i.e.,according to whether the sign is
<br /> of the ground,wall,projecting or pylon type.
<br /> ❑ For ground mounted signs,except pylon signs.the height shall be measured from ground level beneath the sign to the top edge of the sign.
<br /> ❑ For a projecting sign, the height shall be measured from ground level to the top of sign. The bottom edge of such sign shall be located a
<br /> minimum of eight feet from ground level directly under the sign.
<br /> ❑ For a pylon sign,the height will be measured from the elevation of the centerline of the adjacent road to the top of the sign.
<br /> ❑ For a wall sign,the height shall be measured from the base of the building below the sign to the top of the sign face. The top of the sign may
<br /> not be higher than the building on which it is mounted.
<br /> ❑ Each primary building housing a separate unaffiliated business on a parcel is allowed to have the total related signs as permitted by this
<br /> ordinance.
<br /> ❑ Businesses located in one building must share the total signs allocated to the building.

<br /> ❑ No sign shall use any word, phrase, symbol, shape,form, or character in such manner as to interfere with moving traffic, including signs
<br /> which incorporate typical street-type or traffic control-type sign designs and colors. No sign may be installed at any location where by
<br /> reason of its position,wording,illumination, size,shape, or color it may obstruct, impair, obscure,interfere with the view of, or be confused
<br /> with,any official traffic control sign,signal or device.
<br /> ❑ No sign may block or interfere with the visibility for ingress or egress of a driveway. All signs, except auxiliary signs,that are adjacent to
<br /> driveway ingress or egress,shall provide a minimum of 6 feet of clearance between ground level and the bottom edge of the sign.
