Maintain a safe working clearance to the 345 kV conductors at all times based on the latest OSHA requirements.
2.The costs associated with any outage request associated with concerns over OSHA clearance will be the responsibility
of the requestor pending engineering review and approval by the ATC outage coordinator and MISO,the regional grid
operation authority.
3. Unobstructed ATC access to the transmission lines and structures must be maintained at all times.
4. No stockpiling or staging of equipment/materials under or near the ATC transmission lines and structures.
5.ATC does not allow grade changes of more than one foot within the easement unless review of specific plans proves
that the changes will not impact our line clearances or access. If the developer plans on altering the grade as shown
in the plans by more than one foot, revised plans must be submitted clearly showing all grade changes before
approval can be granted.
6. Any damage to the ATC facilities must be reported immediately.
7. Transmission structures may have multiple ground rods. These ground rods could be located a significant distance
from the structure. All ground rods are connected to the structure via a ground wire and could be buried to a depth
of eighteen (18) inches or deeper. If the ground rods are disturbed through construction activities, the location must
be noted and promptly reported to ATC's Maintenance Department.
8. Electric fields under 345 kV transmission lines can cause induced voltages on ungrounded equipment and vehicles
that are under the transmission line. This can be uncomfortable to persons who come in contact with such
equipment. The contractor is responsible for installing any grounding necessary on their equipment to minimize this
issue.
Matt Ernst
Sr. Real Estate Representative
P.O.
