As discussed, the ground sign for 4026 County Highway N will be permitted to
be located 8 feet from the property line fronting County Highway N. The Dane County Sign regulations are in the
process of being revised. One of the revisions is to reduce the ground sign setback from a 42 feet (building setback)to a
standard 5 feet setback to all property lines. I have review the conditions of the property and evaluated the location of
the sign for any safety issues. The sign being setback 8 feet from the property line poses no hazard to vehicular traffic or
does not interfere with visibly along the highway or ingress/egress to the property. The sign will comply with future sign
regulations.
Please accept the approved site plan as confirmation of the location of the sign.
Attached is the sign application and corresponding permit. Please SIGN the application at the bottom and email it back
to Sarah Johnson.
Respectfully,
Roger Lane
Dane County Zoning Administrator
From: Bill Rupp [mailto:Bill.Rupp(alacrossesign.com]
Sent: Tuesday, April 17, 2018 10:25 AM
To: Lane, Roger
Cc: Dennis J. Richardson; Kathryne Kippes
Subject: RG Huston Permit application
Hi Roger,
Thank you for speaking with me this morning and working out the setback for the sign. I have attached the application
and new site plan showing the new set back from the property line.
We have the sign tentatively 8' back from the property line as this puts the sign back 2' from the utility easement. The
location will be surveyed after the installation to provide you a plan showing that we are conforming to our discussion to
be a minimum of 5'from the property line.
