On-Premise Advertising Signs <br /> An on-premise advertising sign is defined as a sign which directs attention to a business, commodity, service, <br /> items, or entertainment, sold, offered or conducted on the same premises that the sign is located. <br /> ❑ Double deck signs,flashing or rotating lights on signs,and graphic signs are not permitted. <br /> ❑ Except for time and temperature signs and electronic signs,no fluttering,undulating,rotating,or other moving signs shall be permitted. <br /> ❑ No sign may be located within a permanently protected green space area, a road right-of-way, an intersection vision clearance triangle, or <br /> installed on a roof. <br /> ❑ No sign,temporary or otherwise,shall be affixed to a tree or utility pole,fence or fence pole,or be painted on a stone. <br /> ❑ Illumination of signs must be designed so that the lighting element is shielded from view from any adjacent residence and from vehicular <br /> traffic. Neon and fiber-optic lighting and electronic signs are exempt from this regulation. <br /> ❑ Sign trim is permitted on all signs and may be installed around the outside of the sign copy area. The square foot area of the trim shall not be <br /> greater than 25%of the permitted copy area of the sign. <br /> ❑ The supporting structure or bracing of a sign shall not be counted as a part of sign copy area unless such structure or bracing is made a <br /> part of the sign's message. <br /> ❑ The square foot total of all appendage sign copy areas shall be included with the sign copy area of the primary sign to provide the overall <br /> copy area of the sign. <br /> ❑ Logos may contain only the emblem or name of the business located on the same property or, on farm and crop signs,the name or emblem <br /> of the business sponsoring the signs. Logos may not be larger than 25%of the sign copy area and shall be included within said copy area. <br /> ❑ This ordinance shall not be construed to supersede,abridge or amend state and federal regulations which are more restrictive. <br /> Fort ?r €€ @$€d .., c: �" .� .max ' .�� E s,« s <br /> �;xi �t Via .. _ " .�'c <br /> ❑ Distance measurements shall be measured along the pertinent right-of-way lines when determining separation between signs or distance <br /> from intersections. <br /> ❑ All signs be located a minimum of 5 feet from the road right-of-way except as otherwise provided by this ordinance. <br /> ❑ Ground and pylon signs may not be located less than 5 feet from a rear lot line. <br /> ❑ Ground and pylon signs may not be located less than 5 feet from a side lot line. <br /> ❑ An on-premise ground sign whose top is more than 30 inches above the centerline of the adjacent road or whose bottom edge is less than 6 <br /> feet above the centerline of the adjacent road,shall maintain a minimum distance from road intersections as shown: <br /> Road Speed(MPH) Required distance(ft) <br /> 0-35 100 <br /> 36-45 200 <br /> Over 45 300 <br /> ❑ An on-premise ground sign whose top is less than 30 inches above the centerline of the adjacent road or whose bottom edge is 6 feet or <br /> more above the centerline of the adjacent road may be installed up to the vision clearance triangle line. <br /> ❑ A ground sign located on the premises of an existing business and whose bottom edge is less than 6 feet above ground level shall be set back <br /> the greater of the centerline distance or the right of way distance as specified in the following schedule: <br /> Road Type Feet from Feet From Right-of-way <br /> Centerline <br /> US/State Highway IOU 42 <br /> County Highway 75 42 <br /> Town Road 63 30 <br /> Platted Rd prior to ordinance N/A 20 <br /> All other Roads N/A 30 <br />
