Rss .zo,)/ L'� <br /> DANE COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> MINUTES OF THE MAY 22, 2008 MEETING <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Al Long, Glenn Reynolds, Steven Schulz, Sue Studz. <br /> Note: Board Member Carleton Hamre was excused due to a conflict with a Capital Area Regional <br /> Planning Commission (CARPC) meeting. Hamre is a CARPC Commissioner. <br /> OTHERS PRESENT: Assistant Zoning Administrator Kris Schutte, Zoning Administrator Roger Lane <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER: <br /> Chair Schulz called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. in Room 309 of the City-County Building <br /> and made an announcement regarding rules and procedures followed by the Board. <br /> IL APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Motion by Long/Schulz to approve the minutes of the April 10, 2008 Site Inspections and the <br /> April 24, 2007 Public Hearing of the Dane County Board of Adjustment <br /> Motion carried, 3 -0. Studz abstained, stating she was not present at the April meetings. <br /> IlL PUBLIC HEARING FOR MAY 22, 2008 APPEALS <br /> 1. Appeal 3527. Appeal by Thomas & Ruth Nelson for variances from minimum setb 4:;" r.-d, <br /> minimum rear yard, and for minimum required lot area and maximum allowable lot cove -g . n <br /> existing substandard platted lot in the Shoreland District, as provided by Sections 10.16(5), <br /> 10.07(8), 11.03(1) and 10.05(4) and (5), Dane County Code of Ordinances, to permit proposed <br /> additions to single-family residence at 2867 Lakeside Street, being Lot 1, Block 6, Waubesa <br /> Beach 1st Addition, Section 8, Town of Dunn. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS: Town of Dunn: 04/07/2008 Acknowledgement; 04/22/2008 Action —"The <br /> Town Board reviewed the above appeal and recommends approval of appeal 3527 for Thomas & <br /> Ruth Nelson including diagrams E, F, or G for the deck." <br /> VARIANCES REQUESTED: Purpose: Allow construction of a proposed new north side deck and a <br /> proposed east side addition to an existing porch/walkway for a single-family residence on a <br /> substandard, sewered, platted lot in the Shoreland district. <br /> Lot Area Variance: <br /> Minimum lot area required: 15,000 SF. <br /> Actual lot area: 6,000 SF. <br /> VARIANCE NEEDED: 9,000 SF as per Diagram E <br /> Lot Coverage Variance <br /> Maximum lot coverage allowed: 35 % <br /> Proposed lot coverage: 34.92% <br /> NO VARIANCE NEEDED as per Diagram E (Original site'plan needed a 15%variance <br /> Setback from Road Variance: <br /> Minimum setback from right-of-way required: 12 feet. <br /> Proposed setback from front lot line: 7.1 feet (Location of existing front porch) <br /> VARIANCE NEEDED: 4.9 feet as per Diagram E. <br /> Rear Yard Variance: <br /> Minimum required rear yard: 25 feet <br /> Proposed rear yard: 17.6 feet <br /> VARIANCE NEEDED: 7.4 feet as per Diagram E Original site'plan needed a 13 4'foot <br /> variance) <br /> IN FAVOR: Thomas Nelson <br /> OPPOSED: None <br />
