.,v MADISON METROPOLITAN SCHOOL DISTRICT RESOLUTION REGARDING PETITION TO ALTER SCHOOL °° DISTRICT BOUNDARIES a MAR 1 2018 SM e WHEREAS, a meeting of the school board of the Madison Metropolitan School District° '- was held on February 26, 2018; and WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the Madise Metope itan School District to Alter School District Boundaries, pursuant to Wis. Stats § 1.17.12 regarding one parcel described as follows; GANSER HEIGHTS, LOT 8 EXC THAT PART LYING IN THE NW 1/4, SEC 26, T7N R8E. PARCEL NO. 251/0708-263-1701-2 WHEREAS, the Petition seeks to detach said property from the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District and attach that property to the Madison Metropolitan School YDistn"cT;and"-- WHEREAS, the Petitioner represents that together they constitute fifty percent (50%) of the owners of, or a majority of the electors owning or residing at, the property referenced above; and WHEREAS, prior to the adopting this resolution, the Board of Education of the Madison Metropolitan School District gave written notice to the electors residing in and the owners of the territory proposed to be detached from the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District and attached to the Madison Metropolitan School District of the proposed reorganization, and provided them an opportunity to meet with the Board of Education and present reasons for or against the proposed reorganization; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education has considered all of the factors set forth under Wis. Stats. § 117.15, as such factors affect the educational welfare of all of the children residing in all of the affected school districts; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education grants the Petition filed by the Petitioner on the bases that the requested alteration would 1) eliminate a school district boundary dividing two separate apartment buildings; 2) unify parcels that currently split between two districts; 3) promote continuity of the surrounding community; 4) allow for the provision of District programs and services to future students residing on the property; and 5) have a positive fiscal effect on the District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the Madison Metropolitan School District that the Clerk of the District shall, within five (5) days after adoption of this Resolution, send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of Education of the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District and file a certified copy of this Resolution with the School District Boundary Appeal Board.
