We propose spacing the decking material with three-eights to one-half <br /> inch gaps between the material to allow any rain or snow melt to drain through the deck into a <br /> pervious sub base of rock below. The proposed plan mimics the design that is used for the <br /> existing deck attached to the Blettners' dwelling. Based on the Blettners' experience, this design <br /> is quite pervious.
